The 5251BPI heat detector measures the temperature in its surroundings and continually reports the result to the fire alarm control panel. The fire panel initiates an alarm condition if the temperature measurement goes above the alarm threshold specified in the fire panel configuration.

Each 5251BPI heat detector is individually addressable, allowing the fire panel to identify the source of the alarm.

The detector address is easily configured during installation.
